Housemates: Pt 4
It starts to get late. As usual, the others put me on cooking duty. Again, I find myself making a decent meal for Alice and I, and some canned shit for those love-birds. Why I even let those two be my housemates, I have no idea. Maybe I was super-drunk, or stoned or something. Who knows? Anyway, I pick up my and Alice's plates and carry them into our bedroom, nudging the door open with my shoulder.
"I made curry if you want some." I mumble, trying to see if she's awake or not. She'd had a pretty shitty day, I didn't really expect her to be. Putting the plates on the desk on the opposite side of the room, I creep up to the bunk bed ladder, slowly climbing up it quietly so as not to wake her. I frown as I see that the bed is empty. I climb down, kind of relieved. Being in the same room as Alice was often awkward. For me at least. She's just so delicate and I'm .. scared of her? No, those aren't he words. Nevermind..
I walk over to the desk and carefully pick up my cutlery, ready to move
Housemates: Pt 3
My jaw drops. This guy is obviously a jerk and doesn't respect boundaries. Not the boundaries I set, anyway. Grimacing, I grab Alice by her wrist and pull her away, across the corridor into a bedroom.
"Seriously Alice, what the hell?" I whisper furiously, staring her down like a cows looks at an oncoming train. "Why would you even approach such a douche?" I sigh, and before she can answer, I lift a finger to her lips to hush her.
"Whatever reason you have, you deserve more than him. You have the looks, why not get the guy that deserves you?" I murmur, twiddling her messy black hair in my other hand. I'm about to continue speaking when she reaches up a hand and slaps me on the cheek.
"I can do what I want. You can't control me." She manages to speak up for once, and I frown, turning to stalk out of the room.
"Don't say I didn't warn you." I hiss, and push open the door to see Jayden.
"She won't listen to reason, honey.." I say, wrapping my arms around Jayden. He lifts a hand

"You're kidding me!" Jayden rocked forward on the couch, falling onto the tile floor, still mashing the buttons on his PS3 controller."How did she manage that?"
"Dunno. His name's Ray. He lives about 5 minutes drive out from us." Tiel called back, stuffing his phone into his pocket and pulling open the bedroom door.
"Hey, guys, Alice says she's at his place now." He murmured, leaning on the back of the couch and tapping Maya on the head.
"I say we crash the party." Jayden shouted excessively loudly, pressing the 'Start' button and getting to his feet.
It was a short drive, Jayden and Maya sitting in the back seat and Tiel driving. As they pulled up in the driveway, the two in the back seat kicked their doors open and stepped out of the car, Maya bearing a distinct look of 'I-am-going-to-kill-that-bastard'. The trio approached the door and Jayden punched the door as a way of knocking. What an elegant fellow. Footsteps could be heard moving down a corridor and towards the fron

"You're kidding me, right? You got fired again?" A young man shouted, as he held the collar of another young man, this one laughing hysterically.
"Chill out, Tiel! I can get any job I'd like, whenever I like." The other one chuckled, grabbing the first one's wrist and twisting it to the left.
"Dammit Jayden, you're worthless. We all have to pay off our shares on this house." Tiel spat, grabbing at his wrist and stepping away, moving into the kitchen and angrily opening the fridge.
"And why, for god's sake, is the fridge packed with nothing but beer?" He moaned, bringing his palm up to his forehead.
"Cool huh? I'm stocking up. That brand's going off shelves next month." Jayden grinned, diving onto the couch and flicking a controller into his hands. Lifting a hand, he waved it around and called throughout the house:
"MAYA, WANNA CO-OP?" He shouted, his only response a grunt from the main bedroom.
"Alright, let's do this!"
"You two need to get a life." Tiel muttered, grabbing a beer and s
Vanguard, Chapter 1: DuncanDuncan's Journal: Day 1288
I consider myself a good man. I respect women, elders, my equals, and the dead. I say a morning prayer, and an evening one. Hell, I even thank the gods for a meal, instead of immediately chowing down in the voracious manner as the other soldiers here do. By all logical means, I should be in paradise. No really, not just because I'm a good man, but also because I should be dead by now. So I ask myself: why, oh gods up there, have I ended up in hell?
1288 days. 1288 days of my life have been spent in this misery, and I'm beginning to lose faith in the glory I was promised. Some of the rookies still live in their ignorant bliss, but I've lived long enough to realize that there's not much glory to find here. “Sing the songs of glory and march into battle—-join The Crusade today!”. Such were the words of the posters The Crusade has spread all over The Mortal Realm. Gullible fools practically stand in line for these songs of glory that th
